Buying the farm = dying
Shooting cookies = vomiting
Cutting the cheese = farting
Plowing (or ploughing for my Canadian/British/European friends) a field = intercourse
The other thought that followed those was if other languages have similar phrases like English. Years ago, I saw a movie "Godzilla 2000". It was the typical Japanese film dubbed into English. Near the end of the movie, the plot moved in the usual direction where the Japanese Defense Forces are preparing to attack Godzilla and save Tokyo. In this movie, the general announces to those around him that they have a new weapon that will defeat Godzilla. He says the missile will go through Godzilla "like shit through a goose." Now that is an appropriate phrase in English, meaning the missile will slice through Godzilla easily, because stuff goes through a goose very easily. My thought is... what is the phrase in Japanese that gets translated into English as "like shit through a goose?"
